Our October 2023 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ1 preowned sales market;
The Citation CJ1 is one of the smaller fleets in the Citation family line with only 193 aircraft. Currently 13 are for sale, or 6.7% of the fleet. The Citation CJ1 remains a popular option for buyers of light jets all around the world.
In September, the average asking price for Citation CJ1s for sale was just under $2.1 Million, and the average sold price was $1.97 Million. The average asking price rose slightly since our last update, up from $2.05 Million, and the average sold price saw the opposite, dropping just slightly from $2.04 Million. In September, there were no sales of the Citation CJ1, and 9 have sold since April.
One of the larger statistical changes in our September update comes from the average days on market for sold units. We track data on a running 6-month basis, and in March there were Citation CJ1s that took much longer to sell. This update covers April through September and with the March sales falling off, we saw the average days to sell drop from 136 to 88. The average days on market for Citation CJ1s currently on the market rose slightly from 119 to 132 days.
