Our January 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2+ preowned sales market;
The Citation CJ2+ fleet consists of 223 aircraft in operation today, and as of January 8, 2024, there were 11 for sale (4.9% of the fleet). This is down two aircraft listings from last month when there were 13 available for sale, or 5.8% of the fleet.
Regarding the Citation CJ2+s that are currently listed for sale, they have been on the market for an average of 174 days. This is up from last month when the average was 144 days. Unless there is a large number of aircraft sold during the month, this is normal to see as each listing ages on the market. Of the CJ2+s listed for sale, the average asking price is $4.74 Million which is up roughly $50,000 from last month when the average was $4.691 Million.
Over the last six months it has taken an average of 104 days to sell a Citation CJ2+ once it was listed on the market for sale. This is up seven days from last month, when the rolling average reflected 97 days for a CJ2+ to sell. The other average we follow is the average sold price on a rolling six-month basis. Currently, the average sold price for a Citation CJ2+ is $4.43 Million which is down slightly from last month when it was $4.55 Million. There were two Citation CJ2+s that sold in December, and nine sold over the last six months.
