Citation CJ3+ Market Update May 2024

May 2024 Citation CJ3+ Market Report - The Jet Agent

Our May 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ3+ preowned sales market;

One new Citation CJ3+ was delivered from the manufacturer in April, bringing the total fleet size up to 269. Of those, 15 are currently for sale, or 5.6% of the fleet. This is up 2 since last month, when 13 were for sale (4.9% of the fleet).

Of the 15 Citation CJ3+s for sale, they have been on the market for an average of 64 days so far, and range in ask price from $7,295,000 to $11,900,000. With the increase in listing activity, we have seen the average days on market dropping since February from 120 days to our current average of 64 days. Also worth noting, a large majority of these new listings are late model CJ3+s (2022 models and newer).  In April, we saw a second 2024 model introduced to the pre-owned market for sale.

Now looking at CJ3+ sold data, there were 21 Citation CJ3+s over the last six months. They spent an average of 119 days on the market before selling, and range in sold price from $6,500,000 to $10,700,000. 2 of the 3 CJ3+s sold in April were 2023 models and spent roughly one month on the market before selling. This is reinforcing what we mentioned last month; that there is demand for late model CJ3+s as the current wait time for a new delivery is approximately 24 months. These late-model options are commanding premium pricing since they are low hour aircraft that are available immediately.

Each aircraft market is unique and full of intricacies that can be difficult to follow. As the markets shift, it is more important than ever to work with a professional aircraft broker who studies these markets daily and can make expert recommendations based on actual market data.
