Citation XLS Market Update September 2026

September 2026 Citation XLS Market Report - The Jet Agent

The Citation XLS market enters September with limited overall inventory and consistent, though modest, transaction activity. Nine aircraft are currently available for sale, representing just 3.1% of the fleet, while seven retail transactions have occurred during the past six months. Inventory has remained relatively stable throughout the period, and with at least one transaction recorded every month, the XLS continues to demonstrate steady buyer activity despite relatively low transaction volume.

Fleet Size and Availability

There are currently nine Citation XLS aircraft available for sale, including one off-market aircraft, representing 3.1% of the fleet.

Inventory has remained remarkably consistent over the past six months. Eight aircraft were available in March before supply declined to six in April. Inventory returned to eight aircraft in May and remained at that level through July before increasing slightly to nine in August.

With only 3.1% of the fleet currently available, buyers continue to have a relatively limited selection of XLS aircraft to choose from.

Market Listings

Current asking prices range from $1.7 million to $6.495 million, compared with a $4.2 million to $6.1 million range for aircraft sold during the past six months.

The unusually broad asking-price range highlights the importance of looking beyond the headline inventory count when evaluating this market. Aircraft-specific differences can create substantial separation in value.

Current listings average 125 days on market, compared with 229 days for aircraft sold during the past six months. Today’s inventory is therefore considerably fresher than the aircraft represented in the recent transaction data.

Sales Activity

There have been seven retail sales during the past six months, including two off-market transactions, representing 2.4% of the fleet.

Transaction activity has been consistent throughout the period. One aircraft sold in March, April, and May before activity increased to two transactions in June. July and August each recorded one additional sale.

Although monthly volume remains modest, the absence of a zero-sale month distinguishes the XLS from several other markets experiencing more intermittent activity.

What this means for you:

The XLS is the only market in this report that has recorded at least one sale every single month for the past six months. That consistency matters. It tells you there is a reliable baseline of buyer activity even when the broader market gets quiet. If you are a seller, the 125-day average DOM for current listings versus 229 days for sold aircraft tells you the better aircraft are moving well before the average. Price correctly, present well, and you are on the right side of that gap. Overprice and you risk becoming part of the 229-day average. If you are a buyer, nine aircraft available is not a deep selection, and the most competitive examples are not sitting long. Waiting for more inventory to appear has not been a reliable strategy in this market, and the consistency of monthly transactions suggests it is unlikely to change.
