Our August 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation XLS Gen2 preowned sales market;
The Citation XLS Gen2 is the latest model in the Excel family, with only 40 aircraft currently in operation. Despite its relatively recent debut, there are already 3 XLS Gen2s available for sale. The resale market for this model has been relatively quiet since the first deliveries began in 2022, reflecting its status as a new and in-demand aircraft.
The 3 XLS Gen2s currently on the market have been listed for an average of 110 days and are priced between $14,950,000 and $16,800,000. While the number of listings has remained fairly stable, June was an exception with only 2 aircraft for sale.
So far this year, only 3 Citation XLS Gen2s have been sold, with all sales taking place in May 2024. Of these, 1 was an off-market transaction, indicating the aircraft was sold privately without public listing. The 2 XLS Gen2s that were publicly advertised spent an average of 137 days on the market before being sold at prices of $13,250,000 and $15,800,000, respectively.
As the XLS Gen2 fleet grows and begins to age, we anticipate increased activity in the pre-owned market.
