Our August 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ1 preowned sales market;
There are 195 Citation CJ1s in operation today, and 17 of them are currently up for sale, which makes up 8.7% of the fleet. That’s just one more CJ1 for sale than last month when there were 16 available, or 8.2% of the fleet.
Listing activity for Citation CJ1s has been increasing since March 2024, with July seeing the highest number of listings so far this year. The 17 CJ1s currently on the market have been listed for an average of 185 days, which is up by 13 days from last month’s 172-day average. The asking prices for these jets range from $1,485,000 to around $2,500,000.
Looking at the sales data, two Citation CJ1s were sold in July, bringing the total to 11 over the last six months. Two of those sales happened off-market, so they were never publicly listed. The CJ1s that were listed on the market spent an average of 150 days on the market before being sold, slightly down from last month’s 156-day average. The sale prices for CJ1s over the past six months ranged from $1,250,000 to $1,850,000.
