Our May 2023 update on what’s happening in the Citation Mustang preowned sales market;
During the period November 2022 through April 2023, there were 25 Citation Mustangs that changed ownership, reflecting an active market. With the exception of the usual brief dip in activity after the December busy season, sales of the Citation Mustang are once again trending up with an increasing number of sales each month year to date.
The number of Citation Mustangs listed for sale has also been steadily increasing each month at a rate somewhat in step with the number of sales. We are seeing some sellers of Citation Mustangs hold strong to their higher asking prices, and seeing more buyers pushing back on those prices, resulting in higher inventory levels compared to last year at this time.
With active sales and strong inventory levels we continue to see this as a great time to consider the mighty Mustang. Sellers are advised to list their aircraft with specialists on their model aircraft, not generalists who sell everything, in order to set the price right from the beginning and minimize time on market. Buyers should consult with an acquisition consultant to be sure they aren’t missing out on off-market options or overpaying for their new aircraft.
