Our April 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ3+ preowned sales market;
With 6 new Citation CJ3+ deliveries, the CJ3+ fleet stands at 268 aircraft in operation as of April 10, 2024. There are currently 13 Citation CJ3+ aircraft for sale, totaling 4.9% of the fleet. The number of CJ3+ aircraft has increased from the previous month when there were 9, or 3.4% of the fleet available for sale.
With the recent listing activity, we saw the average days on market (for aircraft currently for sale) drop from 120 days last month to now 79 days. Worth noting is the rise in listings of late model CJ3+s. In fact, all of the new listings of the Citation CJ3+ in March are model year 2022 and newer.
The addition of these additional late model aircraft for sale has increased the average list price of a Citation CJ3+ by approximately $1,200,000 since last month. Options on the market today range in price from $7,500,000 to roughly $11,900,000.Â
CJ3+ aircraft that have sold over the last six months averaged 124 days on market, up slightly from 106 days last month. 3 Citation CJ3+s sold in March, and 21 CJ3+s have sold over the last six months, ranging in price from $6,500,000 to $10,700,000. As the newer, late model CJ3+s enter the market, we anticipate strong interest in them since they have a lower ask price than a new delivery, mainly delivery hours, and do not require a 1-2 year wait for delivery.Â
