Citation CJ4 Market Update:
The Jet Agent is pleased to provide the following CJ4 market update for January 2025.
Listing activity for the CJ4 (and Gen2) fleet has remained relatively steady over the last few months, with sales trending up since August. This is indicating to us that more and more of the CJ4s available for sale have had the windshield service bulletin completed, with some buyers warming up to the idea of handling the work once they assume ownership of their aircraft.
Here’s what’s happening in the market:
Availability:
The manufacturer delivered three new CJ4 Gen2s in December, growing the total CJ4 fleet size to 453 aircraft. Of those, 34 are currently for sale with is 7.5% of the fleet. This is down five from last month when there were 39 for sale, or 8.7% of the fleet.
Listings:
The 34 CJ4 (and Gen2) aircraft available for sale today have been on the market for an average of 189 days so far. This is up slightly from last month when the average was 177 days. Even with sales trending up over the last few months, we expect to see the windshield bulletin cause longer “days on market” averages until the issue has been rectified on aircraft available for sale. Current asking prices for CJ4 and Gen2 variants range from $5,300,000 to $12,750,000.
Sales:
Eight CJ4s sold in December, up from four in November. Over the last six months, 29 CJ4s have changed ownership with 4 of those sales occurring off-market. The CJ4s that were publicly advertised took an average of 142 days to sell, down ten days from last month when the average was 152 days. Sold prices for CJ4s over the last six months range from approximately $6,200,000 to $12,850,000.
