Citation CJ4 Market Update:
The Jet Agent is pleased to provide the following Citation CJ4 market update for October 2024.
Listing activity for the Citation CJ4 (and Gen2 variant) is soaring! There are 2.5 times more CJ4s for sale compared to this time last year. Approximately one-third of today’s CJ4 listings are Gen2 variants.
The windshield frame service bulletin, combined with rumors of an announcement by Textron related to a significant change in avionics on this airframe, have played a part in the increase in aircraft available for sale. This is a great time to be in the market for a CJ4 as significant price reductions can be had across all model years.
Here is the latest CJ4 market update:
- Availability: There are 449 CJ4s (and Gen2 variants) in operation today, an increase of four from last month due to new deliveries. Of these, 42 are currently for sale, representing 9.4% of the fleet. Last month, 38 were for sale, which was 8.5% of the fleet.
- Listings: CJ4 jets for sale have been on the market for an average of 163 days, up from last month’s average of 150 days. Many listings have been on the market well beyond the average, pushing the number higher until they sell. Asking prices range from $5,100,000 to $12,995,000.
- Sales: Only one CJ4 sold in September, an increase from August, which had no sales. Over the last six months, 17 CJ4s sold, including 10 sales in July. Six of the 17 sales were off-market transactions. Publicly advertised CJ4s spent an average of 120 days on the market before selling, slightly up from 109 days last month. Recent sales prices ranged from approximately $6,750,000 to $12,775,000.
