Citation M2 Gen2 Market Update March 2026

March 2026 Citation M2 Gen2 Market Report - The Jet Agent

Fleet Size & Availability
As of March 18, 2026, The Citation M2 Gen2 fleet has 10 aircraft for sale, including 2 off-market opportunities, representing 10.6% of the fleet.

After compressing to just 4 aircraft in December, inventory has now expanded to 10 aircraft, marking a continued re-entry of supply into the market. This represents the highest available inventory level since early fall and confirms that the tightly constrained conditions seen at year-end have now shifted.

Unlike the legacy M2 market, the Gen2 segment remains largely on-market, making these changes in visible inventory a direct reflection of underlying supply dynamics.

Market Listings
Current asking prices range from $5.65M to $6.5M, maintaining a relatively narrow band consistent with the aircraft’s newer vintage and standardized configurations.  However, both off-market options are priced below this band.

Despite the increase in inventory, pricing has remained stable, suggesting that sellers are not yet adjusting expectations. However, with more aircraft now competing within a tight pricing range, differentiation is becoming increasingly important, particularly among similarly equipped aircraft.

Average days on market for active listings has increased to 132 days, indicating early signs of softening in transaction efficiency as supply builds.

Sales Activity (Last 6 Months)
A total of 16 aircraft have traded over the past six months, including 3 off-market transactions, representing 17.0% of the fleet. Sold prices ranged from $5.15M to $6.5M, remaining aligned with current asking levels.

Transaction activity accelerated through late 2025, peaking at 7 sales in December, before declining sharply to 1 transaction in both January and February.

Notably, while sales activity remains subdued, inventory has continued to rise, from 6 aircraft in January to 10 in February, highlighting a growing imbalance between supply and demand. This suggests that current transaction volume is not keeping pace with new or returning listings.

Aircraft that did transact averaged 78 days on market, significantly outperforming current listings and reinforcing that well-positioned aircraft continue to clear efficiently.

Key Takeaways
Inventory has expanded materially, signaling a shift toward increased supply
• Transaction volume remains subdued, with only 2 sales across January and February
Absorption is weakening, as inventory growth is outpacing transaction activity
Pricing remains stable, but competition among similar aircraft is increasing
Days on market is beginning to rise, indicating early softening in market velocity

Key Insight
The Citation M2 Gen2 market is transitioning from supply-constrained to supply-building.

While pricing has not yet adjusted and demand remains present, the balance of power is beginning to shift as buyers gain more options. If transaction activity does not re-accelerate in the near term, continued upward pressure on days on market. and eventual pricing sensitivity, should be expected.

In this segment, success is increasingly driven by pricing, differentiation, and timing, as the market moves into a more competitive phase.
