Citation M2 Market Update:
The Jet Agent is pleased to provide the following Citation M2 market update for October 2024 (including M2 Gen2 models).
Over the last six months, listing activity for the M2 fleet has been trending up, while sales have been trending down. Like many fleets, more aircraft are for sale across the board, which is beneficial heading into Q4. This is the busiest time of year for business aircraft sales, and having a strong inventory to choose from is advantageous.
Let’s dive into the data and see what’s happening with the M2 fleet:
- Availability: Four Citation M2 Gen2s were delivered by the manufacturer in September, increasing the total fleet to 380 aircraft. Of these, 37 are for sale today, representing 9.7% of the fleet. This is up from last month, when 31 were for sale, or 8.2% of the fleet. The majority of available aircraft are original M2s, with eight listings being Gen2 variants.
- Listings: The 37 M2s (and Gen2 variants) for sale have been on the market for an average of 133 days, nearly unchanged from 132 days last month. Asking prices range from $3,595,000 to $6,250,000, with Gen2 variants priced at the higher end ($5,500,000 to $6,250,000).
- Sales: One Citation M2 sold in September, and M2 sales have generally declined since April, when seven were sold. Over the last six months, 21 M2s sold, with eight of those being off-market transactions. Publicly listed M2s spent an average of 112 days on the market before selling, slightly up from 110 days last month. Sales prices for M2s over the last six months ranged from $3,150,000 to $6,300,000.
