Our September 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation XLS+ and XLS Gen2 preowned sales market;
The Citation XLS+ market continues to show steady activity with 313 aircraft currently in operation. Of those, 12 are listed for sale, representing about 3.8% of the fleet, down slightly from last month when 13 were available (4.2%).
The 12 XLS+ jets currently for sale have been on the market for an average of 237 days, up 12 days from last month’s average of 225 days. With fewer new listings entering the market, the average days on market (DOM) have begun to increase. Buyers looking at Citation XLS+ aircraft today can expect asking prices to range from $7,000,000 to $12,400,000, reflecting the high demand for this airframe.
In terms of sales, 2 Citation XLS+ jets were sold in August, bringing the total to 10 sold over the last six months. Of those, 2 were off-market transactions, meaning they were never publicly listed. On-market options took an average of 126 days to sell, which is up from last month’s 80-day average. The XLS+ jets sold in the last six months have seen sale prices ranging from $7,600,000 to $11,700,000.
As for the Citation XLS Gen2 market, listings and sales activity remain low, with most movements focused on new deliveries. We are keeping an eye on this segment and will provide more details as the market evolves.
