Our April 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2 preowned sales market;
Currently, we have a total of 235 Citation CJ2 aircraft soaring through the skies. Out of these, 19 are currently available for sale, which accounts for around 8.1% of the fleet. Compared to last month’s figures, this represents a slight increase from the 16 available, or 6.8% of the fleet. While we’re sitting just above the six-month average of 7.0%, it’s important to note that there’s still plenty of opportunities in the market.
The CJ2s currently up for grabs are ranging in asking prices from roughly $2,500,000 to $3,690,000. This range has been holding steady lately, with the lower end just slightly dipping compared to previous months. On average, these aircraft have been on the market for about 136 days, showing little change from last month’s average of 138 days.
Now, let’s talk about the real deal – sold aircraft. Over the last six months, a total of 11 CJ2s have found their new homes, fetching prices between $2,750,000 and $3,600,000. These sold prices align well with the current asking prices, indicating a solid understanding of the CJ2’s value among both buyers and sellers.
On average, it took about 165 days to seal the deal on a CJ2 over the last six months. But with some stellar new listings hitting the market recently, we’re anticipating this average to start trending downwards in the upcoming months. With fresh options now available alongside those that have been lingering, we’re looking forward to a resurgence in sales that mirrors the increased listing activity.
