Our July 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2 preowned sales market;
There are 235 Citation CJ2s in operation today, with 30 currently for sale, representing 12.8% of the fleet. This is an increase from last month, when 24 aircraft were available for sale, or 10.2% of the fleet. Listing activity has been on the rise since the beginning of the year, with as many as 32 CJ2s available for sale at some point during June.
The 30 Citation CJ2s currently for sale have been on the market for an average of 133 days, down slightly from last month’s average of 143 days. New listings entering the market help lower the average days on market, along with a CJ2 that sold after an above-average time on the market. The current CJ2 listings range in asking price from $2,650,000 to $3,750,000.
Regarding sales data, 2 CJ2s were sold in June, and 11 have sold over the past six months, with 6 of those transactions occurring off-market. The CJ2s listed publicly spent an average of 151 days on the market before selling, down from last month’s average of 170 days. The sold prices for Citation CJ2s over the last six months range from $2,750,000 to $3,400,000.
