The Citationjet (CJ) market remains highly active, with both listings and sales maintaining momentum. Listing activity has trended upward recently, and with a robust selection of CJs currently available and several deals pending, we expect a strong finish to the year in this segment.
CJ 525 Market Overview:
Fleet and Availability:
There are 335 CJ aircraft in operation today, with 30 currently for sale, representing 9% of the fleet. This marks a slight increase from last month when 8.4% of the fleet was listed, with 28 aircraft on the market.
Listings and Asking Prices:
The 30 CJs for sale have averaged 210 days on the market, virtually unchanged from last month’s 207-day average. Asking prices range from $1,100,000 to $2,495,000, offering a range of options for buyers. The CJ remains an attractive choice for first-time jet owners due to its accessible pricing and upgrade potential, especially in avionics.
Sales Activity:
In October, two CJs were sold, maintaining the pace from September. Over the last six months, 18 CJs have traded hands, with seven of those sales occurring off-market. Publicly listed CJs took an average of 195 days to sell, up from 178 days last month. Recent CJ sale prices over the last six months ranged from $1,000,000 to approximately $1,850,000.
As listing activity continues to rise and demand remains steady, the CJ market is well-positioned for a strong end to the year.
