Our April 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2+ preowned sales market;
Currently, we’ve got a fleet of 223 Citation CJ2+ aircraft in operation. As of April 4th, 2024, there are 14 of them available for sale, making up around 6.3% of the fleet. Now, let’s break it down a bit further.
We noticed a rising trend in listing activity for the Citation CJ2+, hitting its peak in February with a total of 17 available for sale at some point during the month. However, due to some swift sales action with 3 aircraft finding new homes, we saw the number of available aircraft drop back down to 14. Although there have been a few new listings popping up every month, some older ones have been hanging around, causing the average days on the market for currently available aircraft to climb to 187 days.
Now, let’s talk pricing. The Citation CJ2+s currently up for grabs are ranging in asking prices from $4,350,000 to $5,000,000. And here’s where it gets interesting: Over the last six months, a total of 10 Citation CJ2+ aircraft (4 of which were off-market sales) have found their new owners, fetching prices between $4,000,000 and $4,750,000. It’s pretty cool to see how the ask price range aligns so closely with the sold price range, indicating that both buyers and sellers are on the same page when it comes to understanding the value of this sleek aircraft.
In a nutshell, the Citation CJ2+ market is buzzing with activity, and while some listings are taking their sweet time to find their match, there’s no denying the allure of these birds to both buyers and sellers alike.
