The Citation CJ2+ remains one of the most desirable aircraft in the light jet market, but sourcing quality options, particularly within the United States, continues to pose a challenge. A notable uptick in listing activity from October to November has introduced additional opportunities, including a few domestic options that could better meet buyers’ needs.
Market Overview:
Fleet Size & Availability: Of the 223 CJ2+ jets in operation worldwide, 17 are for sale, representing 7.6% of the fleet. This marks an increase from November, when 14 CJ2+s were available (6.3%). Encouragingly, two of the four new listings added in November are based in the U.S.
Market Listings: The 17 CJ2+s currently for sale have been on the market for an average of 180 days, which remains largely unchanged from November’s 182 days. Asking prices for CJ2+s now range between $3,850,000 and $4,695,000, reflecting the aircraft’s continued value and demand.
Sales Activity: Only one CJ2+ was sold in November, consistent with October’s single transaction. Over the last six months, seven CJ2+ jets changed ownership, with four of those sales occurring off-market, highlighting the competitive and discreet nature of this segment. Publicly listed CJ2+s sold during this period spent an average of 102 days on the market, representing a significant improvement from October’s 178 days. Sale prices over the past six months ranged from $4,000,000 to $4,900,000.
