Citation CJ2 Market Update July 2026

July 2026 Citation CJ2 Market Report - The Jet Agent

Fleet Size and Availability

There are currently 24 Citation CJ2 aircraft available for sale worldwide, including three off-market opportunities. This represents 10.2% of the active fleet.

Inventory increased from 16 aircraft in January to 23 in April and May, before declining slightly to 22 in June. With 24 aircraft now available, buyers have more selection than they did at the beginning of the year, and sellers face increased competition from similarly equipped aircraft.

Market Listings

Current asking prices range from $2,099,000 to $4,500,000, while active listings have been on the market for an average of 200 days.

The wide pricing range reflects meaningful differences in total time, engine program enrollment, maintenance status, avionics, damage history, paint, interior condition, and overall pedigree. Aircraft with Garmin avionics, strong engine coverage, current maintenance, and updated cosmetics continue to attract the greatest buyer interest.

As inventory increases, aircraft that are not properly positioned against competing listings may remain on the market longer.

Sales Activity

Fifteen Citation CJ2 aircraft sold during the past six months, including five off-market transactions. These sales represent 6.4% of the fleet.

Reported sale prices ranged from $2,800,000 to $3,500,000, and sold aircraft averaged 132 days on market. Monthly transaction volume peaked with four sales in March, followed by three sales in both April and May and one sale in June.

One-third of the reported transactions occurred off-market, demonstrating that a meaningful portion of CJ2 activity continues to take place outside publicly advertised listings.

Key Takeaways

• Twenty-four CJ2s are currently available, representing 10.2% of the fleet.
• Inventory has increased from the beginning of the year, creating more competition among sellers.
• Fifteen aircraft sold during the past six months, including five off-market transactions.
• Sold aircraft averaged 132 days on market, compared with 200 days for current listings.
• Buyers continue to prioritize maintenance pedigree, engine coverage, avionics, and overall condition.

Key Insight

The Citation CJ2 market remains active, but increasing inventory is giving buyers more choices and making proper pricing and positioning increasingly important. The difference between the 132-day average for sold aircraft and the 200-day average for current listings indicates that buyers continue to act on desirable, well-priced aircraft while less competitive listings remain available longer.
