Our June 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2+ preowned sales market;
There are currently 223 Citation CJ2+ aircraft in operation, with 12 available for sale, representing 5.4% of the fleet. This is a slight decrease from the May 6th, 2024, market report, which listed 15 aircraft for sale, or 6.7% of the fleet.
The 12 Citation CJ2+s on the market today have been listed for an average of 104 days, a significant drop from the previous month’s average of 195 days. This decrease is primarily due to the sale of a CJ2+ that had been on the market for over 500 days. The current asking prices for CJ2+s range from $4,340,000 to $5,290,000.
Regarding recent sales, 5 Citation CJ2+s were sold in May, contributing to a total of 15 sales over the past six months. Of these, 5 were off-market transactions. The publicly listed CJ2+s spent an average of 183 days on the market before selling, up 31 days from the previous month. This increase in the average time on market is also due to the sale of the long-listed aircraft. The selling prices over the last six months ranged from approximately $3,900,000 to $5,200,000.
