Citation CJ2+ Market Update:
The Jet Agent is pleased to provide the following CJ2+ market update for November 2024.
The CJ2+ market remains unique. These aircraft are highly sought after, but finding quality options can be challenging. Many are available, though few are based in the U.S. With a strong preference for U.S.-based aircraft, sourcing CJ2+s has become tricky.
Let’s take a closer look at recent CJ2+ market activity:
- Availability: There are 223 CJ2+ aircraft in operation, with 14 currently for sale (6.3% of the fleet). This is up from last month, when 13 CJ2+s were for sale, or 5.8% of the fleet.
- Listings: The 14 CJ2+ jets for sale have been on the market for an average of 182 days. This is an increase from last month, when the average was 170 days. Many CJ2+ aircraft for sale are outside the U.S., and only half of the 14 available are currently based in the U.S. Asking prices for a CJ2+ today range from $3,850,000 to $4,950,000.
- Sales: No CJ2+ aircraft sold in October. August and September each recorded two sales, but October saw none. Over the last six months, 10 CJ2+s changed ownership, with four sold off-market. Publicly listed options spent an average of 178 days on the market before selling, which is nearly unchanged from last month’s 172 days. Sold prices over the past six months ranged from $4,150,000 to around $5,200,000.
