Citation CJ2+ Market Update:
The Jet Agent is pleased to provide the following CJ2+ market update for October 2024.
The Citation CJ2+ remains a sought-after model for aircraft owners. Compared to the CJ2, it has a similar fleet size. However, there are typically fewer CJ2+ aircraft available for sale at any given time.
Let’s take a look at what’s happening lately:
- Availability: There are 223 CJ2+s in operation today. Of those, there are 13 for sale, which is 5.8% of the fleet. This is just one less than last month, when there were 14 for sale, or 6.3% of the fleet.
- Listings: So far, the 13 CJ2+s for sale today have been on the market for an average of 170 days. This is up 35 days from last month when the listing average was 145 days. All of the CJ2+ jets for sale today have ask prices above $4,000,000, ranging from $4,295,000 to $4,950,000. With nearly 6% of the fleet for sale, finding a domestic, damage-free option remains challenging. We study this fleet carefully to be able to suggest the best options for buyers.
- Sales: Last month, only one CJ2+ sold, down from August when we saw two jets trade. Over the last six months there were 12 sold. Four of those sold unadvertised (off-market). The publicly listed options remained on the market for an average of 172 days before selling. This is down slightly from September when the average was 183 days. Over the past six months, Citation CJ2+ aircraft sold between approximately $3,900,000 and $5,200,000.
