Our September 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ2 preowned sales market;
The Citation CJ2 market continues to show active listing movement with slight shifts in available inventory. At The Jet Agent, we remain focused on monitoring these trends and providing expert guidance to buyers and sellers alike.
Currently, there are 235 Citation CJ2s in operation, and 29 of those are up for sale—representing 12.3% of the fleet. This is a marginal increase from last month’s 28 available listings (11.9% of the fleet). Listing activity has been rising since January 2024, and the 29 CJ2s available today have been on the market for an average of 151 days, up slightly from the 149-day average last month. With new listings coming in and sales activity slowing since May, it’s expected that the average days on the market will continue to climb. The CJ2s listed for sale currently range in asking prices from $2,500,000 to $3,750,000.
On the sales side, 2 CJ2s sold in August, adding to a total of 16 sales over the last six months. Of those 16, 6 were off-market transactions. The CJ2s that were publicly listed spent an average of 156 days on the market before selling, slightly down from last month’s 164-day average. Sale prices for the CJ2s sold in the last six months have ranged between $2,500,000 and $3,500,000.
