Our July 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ3 preowned sales market;
The Citation CJ3 fleet is comprised of 410 aircraft in operation as of June 2024. There are currently 29 CJ3s for sale, representing 7.1% of the fleet. This is an increase of 3 additional listings since last month when there were 26 CJ3s for sale, or 6.3% of the fleet. Citation CJ3 listings have been on the rise since March 2024.
The 29 Citation CJ3s for sale today have been on the market for an average of 145 days; up from 109 days last month. CJ3s for sale today range in asking price from $3,795,000 to $6,495,000.
There were 2 Citation CJ3s sold in June, and 14 have sold over the last six months. Of those 14 sales, 6 were off-market transactions, not having been advertised to the public. The CJ3s sold over the last six months spent an average of 129 days on the market before selling. The same 14 CJ3s sold over the last six months range in sold price from $4,600,000 to roughly $6,450,000.
There has already been a CJ3 sold in July, and a few more deals are pending and expected to close soon. We anticipate a slight increase in sales in July compared to June, and the addition of quality new listings on the market should help continue that trend.
