Our May 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citation CJ3 preowned sales market;
There are 409 Citation CJ3s in operation today, and of those, there are 22 available for sale (5.4% of the fleet). This is unchanged from last month, when there were also 22 available for sale. There were 6 CJ3s sold in April, 7 new CJ3 listings introduced, and 1 withdrawn from the market for sale.
Looking first at the CJ3s available for sale, their average time on market so far dropped 51 days from last month’s high of 161 days, down to 110 days currently. This is due to 7 new listings being introduced in April, driving the average days on market figure down. The Citation CJ3s for sale currently range in asking price from $3,950,000 to $6,495,000, which is unchanged from last month as the new listings all have asking prices inside the existing range.
Moving now to the Citation CJ3s that have sold over the last six months, they spent an average of 135 days on market before selling, and range in sold price from $4,800,000 to roughly $6,450,000. The average days on market dropped just slightly, 6 days, since last month. The average days on market for the CJ3s sold in April match the current average of the last six months, and the CJ3s sold in October which fell off our rolling six-month average were above the average range, giving us just a slight drop.
