Our April 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citationjet 525 “CJ” preowned sales market;
The current landscape of the Citation Jet (CJ) market reveals that out of the 336 original CJ aircraft still operational, 30 are presently available for sale, constituting approximately 8.9% of the total fleet. This represents a slight decrease from the previous month, during which 31 aircraft, or 9.2% of the fleet, were listed for sale.
Since the beginning of the year, 10 additional CJs have been introduced to the market, resulting in the sale of 6 units, averaging 2 sales per month. The CJs currently for sale have been on the market for an average of 183 days, compared to the previous month’s figure of 162 days. Similarly, CJs sold over the past six months spent an average of 132 days on the market, slightly higher than the previous month’s average of 127 days.
In terms of pricing, the current asking prices for Citation Jets for sale range from $1,000,000 to $2,600,000. This range accommodates a spectrum of offerings, from standard configurations to fully upgraded models with advanced cockpit features, custom paint, and enhanced interiors. Recent sales data indicates that CJs sold over the last six months ranged in sold price from approximately $750,000 to $1,725,000.
While the number of listings has been increasing, the rate of sales has not kept pace. However, it is anticipated that a diverse selection of Citation Jets will continue to be available on the market in the foreseeable future.
