Our September 2024 update on what’s happening in the Citationjet 525 “CJ” preowned sales market;
Currently, there are 335 Citation Jets (CJs) in operation, with 25 available for sale, representing 7.5% of the total fleet. This marks a slight decrease from last month, when 29 jets were listed for sale, or 8.7% of the fleet.
The 25 CJs for sale have been on the market for an average of 270 days, up from last month’s average of 218 days. The pricing range for these jets remains steady, with asking prices between $1,000,000 and $2,600,000, as no new listings were publicly introduced in August.
August saw 6 CJ sales, with 4 being off-market transactions, highlighting the continued strength of private sales in this space. Over the past six months, 24 Citation Jets have changed ownership, with 10 of these sales happening off-market. For the 14 jets that were publicly advertised, they spent an average of 121 days on the market before being sold, which is up slightly from last month’s average of 108 days. The sold prices for Citation Jets over the past six months have ranged from $1,000,000 to $2,150,000.
